Statistic, 6'x3', Collaged Charcoal
According to OCHA roughly 10,000 Palestinian West Bank olive trees and saplings have suffered either uprooting or damage from Israeli attacks in 2013 alone. Reportedly more than 800,000 olive trees have been burned or removed by Israeli settlers as a tactic to remove palestinians from the land. Most commonly practiced in rural areas of Palestine where people live off their land and is the main source of their income.
In this piece settlements in the background inch closer to this Palestinian mans land that he can no longer sustain a living from.
Repetition, 5'x4', Ink
For this piece I had created an Islamic geometric pattern that i then used as a stencil. The Arabic calligraphy is taken from a part of the Quran which represents the repetitive nature of the Islamic Faith in ones daily life

Visual Map of my Brain, 98 pieces - 9"x12", Ink
With this collection of Drawings I am representing a visual map of my brain through the repetitive nature of drawing the Jordan Gate Towers in Amman, Jordan. They began construction on these towers in 2005 and are still currently in construction. I think a lot about these towers as an embodiment of home, architecture and being a role model in the Arab World; for these unfinished towers can be seen throughout most of the city and I find that to be looked up to in both regards one must feel complete to be able to give back.
