Chimera Triangulation

4 x 2.5 feet sculpture laser cut and then built out of bristol paper.

Sculpture inspired by the idea of chimeras and molding appropriated online readymade objects.

Sculpture was made by finding online readymade forms and stitching them together in Rhino. Form was triangulated and then isolated into strips to be able to laser cut. Added tabs to strips for assemblage after laser cutting. Unrolled strips from the form to a 2D surface. Laser cut the strips on texture mapped paper and assembled sculpture.
Texture used for the sculpture. Photos taken and color corrected.
Sculpture in Rhino isolated into strips.
Strips rolled out onto flat surface and aligned onto dimensions for laser cutting.
