Transience Trilogy
Through imagery of tribal conceptual beings, I wanted to explore ideas of growth, struggle, and passage of time in a unique series of compositions. I hoped that through tribal visuals I could express an idea of human instinct and to strip ideas to their fundamental core. These ideas were things that were consuming me at the time, as well as things that I observed from those close to me. The ideas I was exploring were things that I wanted to express to them in order to help them get through some of their hardships. However, I never had a chance or found the right words to express my thoughts to them.
From left to right: "Enveloped", "Treillage" , "Flower II"
"Treillage"
The vines climb upward: growing, reaching, striving to survive. It's limbs search, seeking support for something to help it acquire a suitable foothold: to find balance. Support. Necessity. The vines rely on a framework for help. For they need it to help it grow and survive. Though the framework need not provide support, and it receives nothing in return, the interplay between vine and frame create something beyond themselves: something beautiful. It becomes something greater than the sum of its parts.
"Enveloped"
Sometimes we find ourselves subject to overwhelming forces in life: time, money, obstacles, setbacks, etc. It is essential for us to seek out positive forces that can help us combat the negative. It's essential to have those things that can envelop us in a positive way, to find something that can embrace us and uplift, rather than bind us and keep us down. Seek those positive influences and allow them to help you grow and learn to be able to overcome those seemingly overwhelming negative forces.
"Flower II"
Reaching, growing, withering. As our life moves forward into the next moment, we bloom into the world as a new person every single day. We wither away and over our lifetime it is the seeds that we cast out into the world that express the beauty that we might find in ourselves.
