DISTURBANCE | Conceptual Video
Video Project | 01:21 | Adobe Premiere Pro | 2019
With this project I wanted to explore how I can transform my love for conceptual portrait photography to a video format and also involve the green screen technique.
My main inspiration was the video of Andy Warhol eating a hamburger. I wanted to achieve the same feeling what some may call discomfort or that you are disturbing the video with your presence, but you still can’t take your eyes off it.
The video was shot in 2 long takes, with no jump cuts or any involvement from me behind the camera - it was all about the actress and her interacting with the set. The camera was only there to film the moment, without being any kind of distraction. She is not looking into the camera, she is looking at you - the viewer.
For the green screen part I used red paint, which I played with in Adobe Premiere to create this double exposure effect, but in a video form.
I wanted to keep the video as minimalistic and almost clinical as possible, to achieve the feeling I intended. I also kept the original audio, slightly enhancing the sounds of the eating part to make it more clear and it also complements the aesthetic of this video.
