Three Yale University Alumni Who Played in the NHL

Prior to beginning his career in the financial sector, Warren Lammert earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and played on the school's junior varsity hockey team.

Since 1983, 20 Yale alumni have played in the National Hockey League (NHL). Below are the three players who have had the most success in the league:

1. Randy Wood - A native of Princeton, New Jersey, Wood leads all Yale alumni in NHL points with 334 through 741 career regular-season games. He joined the league in 1986 as a member of the New York Islanders and later played for the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Dallas Stars. He registered a career-best 48 points in the 1989-90 season.

2. Chris Higgins - Selected 14th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Higgins accumulated 333 points through 711 regular-season games in 12 seasons. He last played in 2015-16 with the Vancouver Canucks.

3. Bob Kudelski - A right-winger from Springfield, Massachusetts, Kudelski made his NHL debut in 1987 with the Los Angeles Kings and later played for the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers. He recorded 241 points through 442 career regular-season games.
