The strong bond between Milan and Cortina dates back to the 1980s,
when the splendid mountain village became the most popular destination for winter tourism of wealthy Milanese people.
Inspired by the Memphis Group, an Italian ephemeral and colorful design group
founded in 1980, we created these illustrations with bright colors and iconic textures
from the golden years of Italian design.
The following illustration aims to explain what Cortina is: mountains, ski slopes, cable cars and, of course, winter sports.
Shopping, nightlife and the finest hotels have led Cortina to become an icon of luxury.
Following the trend of the wealthiest Milanese people, even for the middle classes
it became very popular to move to Cortina for a skiing holiday.
Cortina is not only Olympics, but also fashion: the style of clothes and equipment worn
on the slopes create new trends.
