El Lissitzky was a genius graphic designer. He had two writings speaking on the design of type which still stands true to today. Topography of Typography and Typographical Facts both speak to his thoughts on what makes good type design.

In this double sided accordion book that I made, I combined his two writings together. On the yellow side, the writings are in the order he gave them in along with some of his works that exhibit these rules. The design is fairly plain and simple, honoring Lissitzky's style. On the pink side, the writings are mixed up and organized according to idea. Each spread is one coherent idea, despite there being two different texts present. There are also different contemporary packaging design pictures that exhibit the idea expressed on the page. This side is more colorful to match the bright package design colors.

To read, the reader unclasps the book, flips through the pages, and then clasps it. Afterwards, they can flip it to the other side, unclasp, and enjoy the other side. One can also unclasp both sides and spread the whole accordion out, enjoying all the spreads at once.
