Living in Haiti, one year after
I was in Haiti from september to late december 2010, where I was at some point commissioned to produce a photo essay on the sad anniversary of the earthquake of January 12th 2010.

So much had been said already about Haiti. I chose to deliver something sober and descriptive, hopefully staying away from the usual miserabilist coverage we most often get. Also, Haitians, in my short experience, remain very hospitable, and even funny, certainly given the hardship they are still going throught. I think this is the main thing I was hoping to add to the media dialogue. In fact, I get many comments of viewers saying their were pleasantly surprised to see smiling Haitians.
