“All The Things We Did Not Do” e “The Fun is Over” são um conjunto de medalhas compostas por várias espátulas coloridas de madeira pintadas por uma pessoa e outras pintadas de negro por mim. É importante mencionar que as espátulas pintadas pelo outro têm um espaço temporal de cerca de 1 ano das pintadas por mim e da consequente transformação destes objectos em medalhas.

Neste trabalho reflito sobre o decorrer do tempo e as mudanças que ele traz, sobre o contraste entre passado e futuro; e, também, sobre a fragilidade e oscilações das relações humanas, como estas alterações temporais as afetam e a brusca polaridade que pode resultar delas.

A junção das peças antigas, criadas pelo outro com as novas, criadas por mim confere-lhes um sentido totalmente diferente. Não deixando de representar o outro, elas simbolizam também o passado, o estado de uma relação em dado momento. Enquanto que as segundas, representam o estado do mesmo relacionamento após um espaço temporal de cerca de 1 ano e a minha perspectiva relativamente ao outro.

“All The Things We Did Not Do” and “The Fun is Over” is a pair of medals composed by several colourful wood spatulas painted by a person, and two other in black painted by myself.

In this artwork I reflect about the course of time and the changes that come with it, the contrast between past and future, the delicacy of human relationships, how these time changes affect them, and the sudden divergence that may result from it.

The merging of the old pieces – created by the other subject - with the new ones – created by me - bestows itself an absolutely different meaning. Without setting aside the portrayal of the subject, the old pieces also represent past times, the state of a relationship at a given point in time. It is relevant to mention that there is a one year time gap between the painting of the spatulas and their consequent transformation by me. While the new ones depict the state of the same relationship after a one year gap time and my personal perspective on the other subject.

The creation of an artwork with a rather more personal approach has allowed me not only to work in retrospective as well as to step out of my comfort zone unravelling a new artistic process.
