Spools - Creating my own typeface

Spools
Creating A Typeface
For my Type class, I was asked to create my own font inspired/stemmed from the poster that I have created.  To create a typeface, you need a system; thus, I created a shape that would serve as a layout for each letter design but also serves as a template.   The shape above is the one I ended up using as it's circular shape and colors are reminiscent of my Baseline poster.  I associate circularity with velocity; thus, I named my typeface "Spools" as a response to that.
Final typeface design for Spools is presented above
The visuals below provide a glimpse of the different typeface iterations, experiments, zoom-ins, and size play that I've done throughout this assignment.
Placing the type that I've created in different shapes, sizes, and angles in order to create visual forms with interesting juxtapositions.
The animation that I've created for one my type visual designs.
I had so much fun designing these, that I created more than one iteration for letters f, g, h, m, n, w, and z because I wanted to see which iteration is the most legible by the viewer; thus, I asked my peers and professor and based on the consensus, the final typeface was created as shown below.
