Foundation Studies: Drawing (Spring) - Construct

The "Construct" project stems from the idea of cotinuously building objects and/or ideas on top of itself -- constructing a construct to depict an individual's construct (mindset, way of thinking). My construct initially embarked its process as the desire to imitate memory and movement. However, the concept was too vague to work with, so I evolved to the phenomenon and the impact of plastic surgery, and its prevalence in two cultures I come from: Korea and the States. I began studying my face and depicting "flaws" that I saw in the mirror. This study led me to my final construct theme, the perception of self within the context of the 21st century.
