save the turtles

so much single-use plastic waste ends up in our oceans and negatively affects the life there. for example, sea turtles will mistake plastic bags for jellyfish and eat them, causing damage to their digestive system and can result in death.

this photoshoot showcases models in the place of those affected animals, entangled in and surrounded by trash such as bags, straws, water bottles, coffee cups, etc. it illustrates the consequences of plastic pollution on marine wildlife with a human analogy.

special thanks to film and photography society at ucla for letting my concept come to life, isabelle najera for setting this up with me, and models daniel vallejo, diane lee, and brianna hewitt for their participation.

there are small things we can do to limit our plastic waste
we only have one planet after all!
