Dr Fat Lip - Logo and EP Cover Design
Identity materials for a new band, and a cover for their first EP.
After initial consultation with the band, I drew up a number of roughs based around the idea of a vintage, medicine-man feel, and shared them with the band. We finalised the colour way, and the final logo design was finished in Adobe Illustrator and delivered in a range of formats for different online and print uses.
Following this, the band asked me to create an EP cover design, which combined the vintage feel with a slightly more psychedelic imagery. The marbling effect came from an image found online, which I vectorised in Illustrator, with textures and text added in Photoshop. I wanted to capture that vintage feel of old records, so there’s a texture taken from an old blank vinyl sleeve in there (the faint circle that shows where the record lay) and even though it’s a digital release, I put in a few little analogue details like the vinyl RPM and stereo markers on there too.
