Tile panel made on CreArt artist residency for ceramics in Aveiro in November 2019. The inspiration for the motives came from the city itself. The numerous patterns on the pavements of Aveiro, architecture, plants on the balconies, sculptures and ceramic pieces from museums, senor Felica’s workshop, Rijška the cat, peacocks and hens from Palazzo Cristal garden in Porto, Ms Madina’s car, etc. together make a small tile dedication to Portugal and my first (and hopefully not last) tile design.

Other part of my Mini Market project are smaller and bigger ceramic sculptures which represent a collection of souvenirs / toys. During the first week of the residency we saw many exhibitions of ceramics and workshops. What attracted me the most was the Museum of Ceramics in Caldas de Rainha, museum full of funny ceramic characters, animals, plates with food, pottery with animals, shoes etc. I was thinking what a souvenir could be and I came to conclusion - it should be a memory of a special moment in life. With this work I just wanted to start developing some unique souvenirs in contrast to the usual cheap plastic supplies for tourists. A girl with a guitar, a girl with an umbrella, a horse rider, a soldier, peacocks, hens and a swan from Porto, cat Rijška from the workshop, fish plate, heads with hats from the eucalyptus forest and marching orchestra together make an unusual souvenir shop.
