CITY LANDSCAPE
Project Background

The objective of this project was to study the visual characteristics of value/colour and the perceptual and textile propriety of texture in the development of form and creation of meaning.
Achromatic City Landscape
Achromatic Description
This Achromatic piece is based around an old bookstore that unfortunately was closed due to the effects of gentrification on the junction neighbourhood of Toronto. I focused on using line and shape to bring to life the idea of time passing and the space in which once held this iconic store. This process work shows the trials and tribulations in which I wanted to show time and space in a way that's both obvious, yet still subtle enough to make the building be the centre point.
Chromatic City Landscape
Chromatic Description
This colour piece is also based around the same building as the previous achromatic piece but instead of focusing on the time and future of the store I wanted to create a space of 70's art and the idea of love and stature. This piece uses line and shape in a more flowing and organic way to bring to life the idea of the era in which the shop was opened. The process was making sure I got the theme while also having a nod to the future.
