Interactive T-Shirt packaging
The brief: To create an interactive illustration which conveys a narrative without words or a book format.
The project: In this project, a narrative is applied to packaging for a T-shirt from the brand Known Supply. Known Supply aims to humanise the clothing industry by acknowledging the “makers” and bringing the consumer into contact with the person who made their clothes. Each item of clothing is signed by the maker on the label, providing the buyer with the opportunity to “meet” the maker of their clothes on the known supply website.
Drawing from the brand’s values, the strategy for this project is to illustrate interactive packaging which connects the consumer with the maker of their T-shirt.
The packaging depicts a narrative of the maker’s life story. In this case, Vilma Bautista from the Lima, Peru factory’s story is told. The illustration shows elements of her life and what she values alongside the role of KNown Supply in her life. The illustration is marked on the packaging to be scanned with the Blippar augmented reality app. When scanned, these points link to Known Supply webpages and videos which introduce the consumer to the world of the maker.
