This piece is a visual narrative accompanying Marshall McLuhan’s The Medium is the Massage in the format of Art Journal magazine. 

McLuhan’s (abridged) piece prompted me to think about the push and pull between digital and analog both as physical representations and as informational pieces in our society. Since digital media has become a standard way to communicate news, this culture’s idea of authenticity and trust has shifted. At one time, a question of doctored photos, edited videos, or fake news did not exist. Are we quick to ask questions now because of this shift in medium? Or does digital media now communicate more authenticity than print news?
