Crocothemis erythraea

Crocothemis erythraea (common name: scarlet dragonfly) is a species of dragonfly of the family Libellulidae.
It's a typical dragonfly of the Mediterranean basin, where it's widespread.
It's a migratory species that during the hot summers moves towards central Europe while in winter is found in southern Europe, in Africa and in Asia.
In the first four photos there are males, in the remaining three there are females.
All pictures were taken in northern Italy, inside a WWF's oasis.
