This garment knit on a single bed knitting machine was an exploration of the way separate landscapes can interact and overlap with one another. 

I was inspired by this collage I made in a previous work of two photos I took: One of the ocean from Rhode Island and the other of the ocean from California. The photo taken in California is printed on transparent paper and overlaid on top of the one taken in Rhode Island. 

The garment is comprised of two separate pieces. One is a transparent top using eyelets and a traveling ladder technique to mimic land transformations. The other is a thicker wrap skirt made up of two panels, inspired by the texture and rhythm of the two ocean landscapes.
