I donated artwork to the 2019 ASU Poster Show & Auction held by students from Arizona State University. They solicit artwork from designers from all over the world, and then hold an auction. The funds they raise are then used to hold an exhibition to showcase graduation art pieces from students.
This art piece expresses in Japanese the "beauty" that influences a designer through their life and allows you to think about the beauty of form that kanji possesses. On the lower left of the poster, there is a verse written about "beauty": "Without beauty, humanity cannot be nourished, and without beauty, the world of humanity cannot be completed."
"2019 ASU VCD Poster Show 1/1" is written on the lower right of the poster, and there was only one printed that was put up for auction. I drew out the sort of words that would act as a guide in the life of a young student in the future, and presented them simply.
アリゾナ州立大学の学生が開催する 2019 ASU Poster Show & Auction にアートワークを寄付した。同オークションは世界各国のデザイナーからアートワークを募り、オークションを開催。そこで得た資金を元に学生の卒業制作展が行われる。
デザイナーが人生を通して関わる「美」を日本語で表現、漢字の持つ造形美に意識を馳せることが出来る作品にした。ポスターの左下には「美」についての詩が書かれている：「美なくして人は潤わず、美なくして人の世は完成しない」。
ポスターの右下には「2019 ASU VCD Poster Show 1/1」と記され、ポスターは限定一枚のみプリントされオークションに掛けられる。若い学生の今後の人生の指針となる様な言葉を抽出し、シンプルに表現した。
