I was asked as a graphic designer to create design for employee ID card. Nothing special indeed. But what if every employee needs its unique design and what if the amount of employees is more then 100, 200, 300 and more?

I decided to use letters and numbers and let them work for me. Letters generated linear abstract shapes and digits gave me point clusters. Layering and combining them with simple rule (that is just name and employee number in this case) gives unique prints which every user can "draw" itself and keep its uniqueness inside one corporate identity.
Every letter generates its own linear abstract shape
Digits are represented by point clusters
(0 - 9)
User literally type its own design from name and employee number
Every "typed" layer has an assistance algorithm that helps positioning, rotation and scale of each layer into a grid
A couple of examples finished ID cards by this process
Ready to print
