Nebosvod
Small worldly pleasures
Task
The bakery at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior makes bread, rolls, cake, pastry and gingerbread for everyday life and special occasions. Now it is only available at the shops next to the Cathedral, but it is said to appear in the large chain stores soon. Our aim was to help the brand tell its story, so we created a new visual identity for it.
Solution
The main idea behind the new brand can be formulated as “A piece of bright Christian holiday”. Our brand reflects traditional Russian values and tells a story about the highest quality, honest labour and a well-deserved holiday.

The new name “Nebosvod” (literally translated as “arch of the sky”) is simple, truly Russian and evokes correct associations: the turquoise of the heavens, clarity and freshness, the sky as a symbol of godly presence.

The emblem reminds of enamel patterns, and the art-deco typography honors the Russian confectionary tradition. Brand colors symbolize day, night, dawn and dusk – the four states of the sky. Especially created brand patterns are based on traditional Russian ornaments and elements related to the sky.
Using the library of graphic elements, one can create various patterns and even whole storylines. This approach helps to maintain variety in packaging design but would still support brand awareness.

Aside from all this, we developed festive packaging for cakes and pastry and helped design other brans attributes.
