For a project set at uni we had to create an Artists Book (a one off original piece) on a subject we viewed as a world changing wonder. I love Lego, collect it and am very interested in the history and production of it and so I chose this as my subject matter. I screenprinted various imagery and information and created a tactile book and display case made from Lego itself.

For the cover of the book I created a Lego baseplate texture out of tissue paper and added Fimo moulds (below).

The book was bound in the corner with a Lego chain and sat on a slope within the Lego display box.

Above and below: The box also included specially designed sections to hold other elements used to make the book. A spare roll of baseplate tissue, spare Fimo prints, 2 small experimental books, hand-cut rubber stamps and a small concertina book.

I printed each page on a different material because I love experimenting and pushing boundaries as well as creating something unexpected.
