This project was created for Majida Ahmid Kargbo's Cinema and New Media class at Rhode Island School of Design.
Inspired by Black Mirror: Nosedive, this is a proposal for a mobile game in which the player helps their chosen character navigate through social media by making decisions for them which result in both positive and negative consequences. The game explores the question of whether social media can be viewed as a cinematic or televisual narrative experience.
The narrative is told through a simulated screen recording of the character's phone, which is described via a first-person voiceover. At various points, the player will be prompted to make a choice.
The player wins if they get 3 brand deals, 5 stars and 1 million followers, and they lose if they fall below 100,00 followers along with 1 star and no brand deals.
