I met a man who couldn’t decide what gift to give his mom for her birthday. A major decision actually because he hadn’t seen her for years. He looked at me, after we had a little discussion leading up to what I do in my spare time (drawing of course) and asked if I would be willing to do this portrait.
It was a challenge I was willing to take; I had to think ‘what would she like and how do I make this as good as I can with the limited time given?’ So I ended up doing this, squeezed out time from my daily activities with one of my friends and proceeded to do my most realistic drawing yet.
In the end, he was entirely grateful, ecstatic to present the gift alongside his siblings who completely loved it.
A job well done.
