Adaptive System Study 1

The Ask
People want to check the weather when they get up in the morning. An alarm clock app equipped with weather forecaster is definitely a good way to go. However, similar apps in the market now tell you the weather using either a background picture or an icon, which is not as intuitive and natural as being able to observe and understand the weather. 
 
The Exploration
I put the clock into the environment of the day in this design: let the clock become a character and experience the weather.
I tried to figure out how people would set up the alarm at night and being wake up in the morning and then build up wireframes for this road map.
Another adaptive behavior for this app is that it can learn your snooze pattern through out a week and apply the data to the alarm clock for the following week. When the alarm is activated in the morning, people sometimes would hit the snooze to sleep for a bit longer. There are times when this function would make you late and get you in trouble. That's why I think the ability to record the snooze time and adjust the alarm accordingly is very valuable.
You can choose different alarm to activate, or choose no alarm. Touch and drag the house hand and minute hand around to set the alarm time. Choose which days you want the alarm apply to at the bottom.
Considering many of us are not consciously looking at the UI while we are trying to hit "snooze" or stop the alarm, there is no need to create visual element for them.  Just tap anywhere on the touch screen to snooze for 5 mins, or shake the phone to stop the alarm.
After you stop the alarm, the weather forecast interface would come up: the white and empty environment that the clock was sitting in just a moment ago turns into an environment reflecting today's weather. If you keep scrolling down, you can see news, breakfast tips, health tips, etc. They can be customized in settings.
