Heal Haiti's Heart Posters

The poster started with the idea of an injured Haitian boy holding his chest with the new, open wound in the shape of Haiti's map. He is so unknown and anonymous, but at the same time the best representative of the whole Haiti. He- like any other Haitian- is suffering not just only own physical pain, but also the endless pain of his dearest homeland. His heart - the heart of Haiti- is in need to be healed and calmed. Each listening ear, each single hand would help mending the scar and turning pains into beams of hope. This is also the message I try to deliver, expressed by the changing tone of various colors in background (the changes of dark to light tone in the mild spiral-like pattern signifies the raise of hope, which can also be interpreted as the effort to bring back calmness to the country that suffered from 7.0 magnitude earthquake).

The second version (black and white) was my experimental attempt to convey the much stronger impact on viewers about the urgency and restlessness of Haiti's call, using the most basic, powerful color combination : black, red and white.
