PSU Athletics Graphic Design Summer Internship 2019

I was blessed with the opportunity to spend part of my 2019 summer interning with Penn State Athletics. The following artwork contains pieces that I designed throughout the summer. I hope you enjoy my work!
I started the summer creating an invitation for the 1994 Penn State Football 25 Year Reunion
Another project I was asked to complete was to design a new poster for Penn State Wrestling, celebrating their 9th National Championship and 8th in the last 9 years.
One of the biggest projects I worked on this summer was creating a season review sheet for Penn State Men's Tennis. The sheet would be used for recruiting purposes. The coaches liked it so much they wanted another one depicting their success since they took over at Penn State. Once the project was completed, other sports at Penn State took an interest in the idea and wanted to do something similar for their own recruiting purposes. Which are currently in progress...
This next piece was one of the more simple projects. It was significant to me because this was one of the final info graphics Associate AD, Jeff Nelson, asked for before he retired after 25 years with the school. The purpose was to show that Penn State had 8 teams in the top 10 in average home attendance over the past school year, more than any other school.
I was asked to create a template of "Happy Birthday" graphics for the Penn State Men's soccer team. The following graphics are a few examples of the final products.
Another project I completed was to create a few templates for the Penn State Football Game Notes book for the upcoming season. I made a header, footer, and a scoreboard graphic for the Game Notes book that will be used throughout the season. Also included is a Press Box Name Seat Card template that I designed for staff in the press box during games.
The next collection of graphics are ticket sale advertisements for Penn State Men's Hockey. The graphics were sent out on social media platforms and in emails to get people to buy tickets and come see the team play.
I had the opportunity to make a "Happy 4th of July" graphic for the Men's Soccer team at Penn State. This was a pretty fun one for me because I got to do something a little different and express my creativity.
Another big project I was tasked with was making jersey swaps of recruits for the Women's Lacrosse team here at Penn State. These were especially challenging because of the quality of the images I had to work with. Despite that, I believe they turned out pretty good. I included the original and the jersey swap in order to see the full transformation.
Below is another simple graphic I was asked to create for a social media post on the main Penn State Athletics accounts. The purpose of the post was to promote the amount of alumni Penn State has all over the world.
Penn State Women's Basketball got a new coaching staff over the summer and they were big on creating for recruits. With the demand so high I was able to help out and create some graphics myself. I made a depth chart graphic, roster sheet, and a Tyke Jersey design for them to send to recruits. The Men's Basketball team liked the Tyke Jersey a lot so they asked for us to make jerseys for them too in the Tyke style.
The final project I worked on during the summer was to create some concept art for the walls near the locker rooms in the Bryce Jordan Center for the athletes to see before the come out onto the court. Each graphic designer created a concept style for the panels. The place I chose to create my design on is a 4 panel piece outside the Men's locker room.
