QUESTIONING THE GAZE
The reason behind choosing this specific topic was to highlight it in a way which has a unique impact on the society. Male gaze, being the most casual negative aspects in our society, has been talked by many artists and designers who are working for the social welfare of our society. I took it in another perspective, which concentrated more on the buried voice of females when they are being ogled to avoid further harassment in this male dominated society.
This is a trilogy containing various illustrations according to the intensity of the stare.
No typeface was used.
DESIGN BRIEF
Big Idea: Don’t just see me, see through me.
Non-Verbal: A trilogy book of microtypography and expressive illustrations. Monochrome.
Verbal Element: Objectifying the male gaze, provoking them, sarcasm.
Technical Element: An expressive and bold book launch campaign through which direct messages and awareness can be created amongst the society and females will be given the authoritative gesture.
