International Trade Law

According to the professor of law, Aaron Afilalo, the rapidity with which the economic and commercial institutions on which our societies have cemented has evolved has forced us to transform the legal institutions to regulate in a more appropriate way the new social environment that such evolution implies. Thus, in the field of commercial law, a vast community of economic operators has been consolidated that, in order to meet the needs of the general population and their own sector, have been demanding the development of a proper and appropriate legal regime for international Relation Comercial. In his academia publications, Afilalo shares: that claim materializes through the universal acceptance of what we know today as Lex Mercatoria or, better yet, the self-regulation of international trade. Likewise, it allows for the identification and systematization of principles common to all regulations and therefore applicable to the international commercial contract. All, together with the constant work of intergovernmental organizations such as the United Nations Commission for International Commercial Law –CNUDMI– and the Institute for the Unification of Private International Law –UNIDROIT–, which in recent decades have been given to the work to build an institutional and legal order that allows the consolidation of an appropriate legal order for international trade. This Introduction to International Commercial Law aims to bring the reader closer to the basic concepts that are currently part of that new Law: International Commercial Law. It includes, in an understandable way, the extensive set of topics and concepts that surround the elaboration of the current international trade regulation. Knowledge considered not only necessary, but mandatory, for the academic and professional development of all those who must face the challenges posed by the new socio-economic context in which we live.
