Rats symbolised by a triangle, along with many triangles pointing in all directions portrays alertness while the concept of triangles being unable to stand on one edge shows instability. However, the frame is still able to stand as rats are adaptable to all adverse situations - when both the positive and negative traits comes together as a whole unit.
Aesthetics (the harmony between mass & void)
The use of two very contrasting materials – softness of the fabric and hardness of the wood – portrays the positivity and negativity blending together as a unit. Also, the slope of the frame shows the contrast of the positive and negative space depicting the viewer’s direction of view.
Versatile functions or orientations
The frame can be seen in two different orientations. By separating the two pieces from each other and rotating the second piece before joining them together again will give us the second view. Also, based on the use of an embroidery loop, one can detach the second triangle at the back and change to another fabric of their choice.
Originality or uniqueness
The use of hand sewn patterns with the concept of combining hard and soft materials portrays both positive and negative traits. It shows contrast with each other but yet being able to be seen as one.
