I originally sketched out the piece traditionally & did digital edits based on what I thought needed changing

This is a digital painting that I did. I wanted to portray the idea of having your heart on the line, and how it can be a risk, but is worth the risk in the end. The sharks represent the danger of putting yourself out there, while the mermaid represents the reward you can achieve by taking a chance

When painting, I really tried to capture the details that add a realistic quality to paintings.
