Situated on Sculpture Space grounds in Utica, New York, TRACE (2013), is a planting of 3,000 narcissus bulbs on the sites five demolished homes that once line Whitesboro Street.  This West Utica neighborhood, adjacent to the Erie Canal, was once a thriving, densely populated area consisting of homes, factories and shops. Today, few of these structures remain. TRACE is one of five separate site works that I have created on Whitesboro Street since 1998 including INSERT (1998), SOLITARY VIEW (2001), ANOTHER HOUSE REMEMBERED (2007) and TRANSLUCENT HOME (2008).  TRACE uses the universal language of gardening as a way mark a moment in this neighborhood's past.
