Personal Identity Set

This is a two-sided business card that I designed and had printed to represent myself.  Not as a business, but as a graphic designer.
This is the letterhead for the personal identity set.
The letterhead that is another crucial part of the traditional stationary set.
A letterhead in an important part of a stationary set, but more and more communication is moving away from the traditional mail system and to e-mail.  With that in mind, I wanted to create an e-newsletter template that could be an essential addition to the designs that are created for written interaction with customers.
Before I ever decided on the final logo, I went through several concepts prior to decideding on the one used above.  From here on down are the logos that made it to the comp phase and were rendered on the computer.  These are only a fraction of the concepts that I drew by hand as thumbnails.
Of all the other logo design concepts that weren't used, this was the one that came closest to becoming the final logo.  I think that the substitution of an inverted question mark for the J in my name with the addition of a pencil head in the dot was a very strong idea.  Unfortunately, to reinforce the concept, I had to include the word solutions.  It had the desired effect, but it made the logo seem as if it were for a business that had my name rather than a personal logo.
This was a cool design that looked great on paper and doesn't look too bad as a vector logo, but it lost its strength when I looked at the completed logo.  Also, it has the look of the old Windows logo, which was a connection I was trying to to avoid.
This was another strong idea that I considered using as the final logo, but decided not to because it wasn't as strong as the logo I ended up using.  I like it, but I think that the separation between the word Graphic and the word DESIGNER as well as the spacing in the word DESIGNER disrupted the flow too much to be an effective logo.
