Blue is a color with many complexities in its paradoxical meanings and numerous connotations. It is simultaneously the color of loss and sadness as well as calm and peacefulness. Blue is a distinct color that I associate with many memories; my blue bedroom walls, the blue in a familiar landscapes.
In this piece, blue becomes a filter through which I examine my perception of home, loss, memories, myself. The initial format of this piece is inspired by the poem,
Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird by Wallace Stevens.
