Scale Model Fundraiser
NN Cannery History Project

I serve as the Community Curator and designer for this public history endeavor to document the work, people and places of my hometown in Bristol Bay, Alaska.

This campaign was developed to support fundraising efforts in advance of our upcoming exhibit schedule. The diversity of functional branding and efficiency designed into this campaign enabled this pro bono project to meet multiple layers of project goals without compromising my ever present high visual standards.

The central campaign flyer was designed over the backdrop of historic documents discovered in the carpenters shop at the NN Cannery in South Naknek last summer. This flyer efficiently serves the project by functioning as a table top display, tear away receipt for donors and as an engaging informational handout for public events and social media campaigns. All the while delivering a sneak peek into the rich history that is informing the overall exhibit design.

Maintaining a balance in the oft conflicting tension between meeting the dynamic demands of utility without compromising beauty has been a signature present throughout my entire fine art and commercial design career; this project was certainly an exercise in flexing those skills.

This flyer is easily my favorite design of the year and certainly moves the chains in proving that even rigamarole and paper work can be meaningful and BEAUTIFUL!
