The Visualizing Change Toolkit was designed and created to help informal science educators engage the public about climate change in captivating and productive ways.
CHALLENGES:
Visual and scientific data has limited impact if not well-interpreted or well-communicated.
Hundreds of informal science education institutes (ISEIs) use data visualizations as a tool to explain climate change but most educators do not address the cognitive and social psychology of their communication strategies. Effective strategic communications require extensive (and expensive) training that makes it difficult for the field to unify around a cohesive narrative.
SOLUTION:
Create an online communications toolkit to train and disseminate proven strategies/visuals for ISEIs to deploy across the United States.
