The Watauga is a steep class IV-V creek that crosses between Tennessee and North Carolina. Long considered some of the best whitewater in the country, it is fast, stacked, and immensely enjoyable for advanced whitewater kayakers. A series of tightly interwoven horizon lines - river floor repeatedly escaping - kayakers move delicately - poised to negotiate the intricate lines of surrounding current.
