from porto to seoul
I traveled to Seoul, S. Korea in mid July of 2018 and, on the other side of the world, it felt like home. It was a place like no other I have been to but, at the same time, made me feel like I belonged there. As I got to hang around locals I could not help but to feel a close connection to the culture and life style. The moment I photograph something, those moments hold more significance to me. The hot and humid summer really emphasized the whole feeling of the city, for the sun always shined bright, and the sky showed beautiful colors at the end of every day. When I got back home and revisited the memories, I wanted to understand why my heart was so drown to the life of Seoul, so I started taking pictures of Porto in the hopes I could find any relation with my memories of S. Korea. And so this book was born, where I basically arrange the photographs in pairs that initially are from different places, but then even that gets mixed up, so the viewer gets lost and can’t identify where the pictures are from.
