Foldable Camping stool

Catering to the camping masses which is also speculated to be the next big thing due to the increased urbanisation of our society. This was a good need which I decided to tackle during the Folding Furniture module at my 3rd semester at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad under Prof. L. C. Ujawane. Being familiar with the camper's need because of my affinity towards trekking helped me cut down the research time, or so I thought. I started with learning about the entire itinerary which campers of all skill strata carry .
The need came down to the amateur campers for whom the need to rest is important.
To start off it was important to acknowledge the existing solutions in the market. I decided that being a responsible industrial designer my solution has to be significantly better than existing solutions at least in some aspects. Otherwise it will be another product which the world doesn't need. So for the limitation, I decided size in folded state to be the primary deciding factor as that is what seems most important to users when choosing such a solution. I decided to make it as challenging for me as possible, my furniture has to be 1/2 the size of existing solution which is a Decathlon folding stool.
I also decided to take it another level up a notch. Being the last furniture design project in the college I decided to go to the college's limit in making a furniture. There were surely too many 3D printers lying around unused. So here's my solution for the problem, which is 1/3rd the size of the existing solution.

A tennis ball for scale
The 3D printed prototype
Three legged for minimum civilisation
3D model of the same
Validating the furniture for strength analysis
A designer for scale
