Los Angeles-based Viaje Cigars has taken inspiration from the craft beer movement and created a new line of smokes called the Craft Series. The first three releases from the series are Bales on Bales, For the Love of the Leaf, & Wilshire and La Jolla.
 
The client offered this take on how the craft beer industry sometimes operates, “No national rollout. No marketing. No campaign. Just beer, a simple can and a label. This is where the inspiration for Craft Series came from.”

This bare-bones marketing effort has thus far been successful, as each release has sold out before hitting cigar store shelves. Proof that the combination of quality product and custom quality packaging goes a long way when you have a captive audience.
