Matriochkas limited editions

Handmade
We were asked to design a series of minimalistic limited editions for which we chose the theme «Matriochkas». We started from the very essence of minimalism and asked ourselves where it came from. An artistic current is defined by codes and is part of a temporality, here we can notice that minimalism appeared in the 1960s in the United States. Minimalist painters derive their inspiration from Malevich’s supremacism. Suprematism is a movement of modern art, born in Russia in the early 20th century. Our work, therefore, was to deal with the USSR from a general point of view in time, through customs, habits and popular culture in a general way. On the other hand, our work focuses on the idea of patterns, geometric shapes and solid colors.
