The film is sponsored by NID’s Online Design Education. Idea was to create Educational videos on Natural Dyes. Basic structure of the tutorial was provided by V Sakthivel, the course lead.

Since time immemorial, humans have delved in the lap of nature to meet their needs. As they stumbled upon colorful creations of nature, both plants, and animals, they started extracting colours from them for various uses- from cave paintings to textiles.

Ever since nature has remained one of the primary sources for producing textile dyes. Using natural processes, and working hands-on with natural sources comes with the spirit of uncertainty that one needs to imbibe. This course offered by V Sakthivel, Coordinator at Dyeing & Printing Studio, intends to give a scientific perspective on natural dyeing while giving an insight into the textile cycles and its sustainability as a craft.
