Citrus Knit Bags

  • Citrus Knit Bags
  • This project was inspired by citrus fruit. Attention was specifically paid to the structure, color, and texture of the fruit, and how it could be applied to a knit product. Resin was introduced to the fabric in order to both provide structure and rigidity where desired, as well as to bring out juicier colors and texture.

  • Here is the collection of samples for fabric development for the final product. The first three images were the most referenced in the bag design, and the first sample imaged shows an exploration of combining resin with the knitted fabric.

  • Pictured here are developments of exploring shaping for the planned design, and how a discovery of the results of altering the knit structure shifted the course of the project.
