HIMO ART was founded in 2013 by May Sterchi. Born and raised in Japan, May currently lives in San Diego. In her work she utilizes various knotting techniques with yarn which represents she emotional connection between Japan and USA. With the release of ceramic works in 2018, she continues to pursuit freedom of expression.
In the logo, Yasumi uses lines and curves to express the connection between May's Japanese background and her modern macrame technique.
