A video promotion for "The Ultimate Suburban Survivalist Guide" written by Sean Brodrick
Technical Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Producer, Director, etc...Shot with (3) Sony EX1's, mostly on blue and green screen, with Arri lighting mostly in studio with some outdoor and location work as well. We were going for a Zombieland kind of look, not sure we got it but it sure was fun trying. We had to use blue and green chroma backgrounds as we did not have any budget so I did what I had to do to get the project done. In production that was not an issue, but in post it proved to be a huge deal. Edited with Final Cut Studio, I had to remove each chroma key separately to black, then remove the black chroma for final. The biggest issue was that the blue chroma was used behind the blue jeans, that proved difficult to get a good key. Look close and you will see some ghosting, but overall this turned out great. Look for the Golden Retriever, that is my dogs acting debut, shot at home on a blue screen. Yes he is alive, he was just in character, which was to just lay still!
