Background: Anchorage, Alaska is located in the coldest state of America. Because of this, I added the light blue to signify the chilly and icy weather. The brown signifies the booming mining industry of early times, as well as the earthquake that occurred many years ago. The yellow ball signifies two things, the gold rush, and a sun rising to signify the perseverance Anchorage showed to get back on its feet after the earthquake.
