Heart rate of the hummingbirds is extremely high: for some species it reaches up to 1000 per minute.
In the air the hummingbirds show aerobatics - they can fly forward, backward, up and down, sideways, can  hover in the air, and take off and land vertically. When the hummingbird hovers its wings describe eight in the air. This trajectory is important in order to remain stationary in the air and to maintain the equilibrium of the body in an upright position.
