Project Brief:

Letter forms can be created from almost anything in your environment. This assignment was an opportunity to begin observing the world more closely and find ways to make letters out of the objects observed. The goal of the project is to see opportunities for design beyond the expected.

Specifications:

Design and name a photographic font using everyday objects. Use 6-10 unique letters and choose a name that has a conceptual relationship with the font design. Double letters can count if designed differently.

For this project, I thought it would be fun to use neckties given their interesting shape, texture, and the way they fall on a surface. I experimented with several ties, settling on this red and black one. It became the font that I have rightly named Necktie.
