This series of abandoned homesteads are from the mid 1800's to the early 1900's and are specifically located on the high plains of easter Washington in the Pacific Northwest. The journey that families made to move cross country, build homes, raise families and farm during that period of time has always interested me. With no doctors or medicine, disease and famine took many at very early ages. Visiting these old homesteads is a reminder of the difficult times these folks went through to find an other way of life.
